Dried receptacle of Ficus carica L., family Moraceae.

 【Description】

The dried receptacle is obconical or nearly spherical, about 2 cm long and 1.5-2.5 cm in diameter; the surface is light yellowish-brown to dark brown or bluish-black, with wavy longitudinal ridges; the apex is slightly truncate, with a circular protrusion in the center, and the base is narrower, with fruit stalks and remaining bracts. It is hard in texture, and the cross-section is yellowish-white, with numerous small achenes attached to the inner wall, and sometimes withered male flowers are visible in the upper part. The achenes are oval or trigonal-ovate, about 1-2mm long, light yellow, and covered with persistent sepals. It has a slight odor and a sweet taste. The best quality is dry, bluish-black or dark brown, and free from mold and insects.
