【Botanical Origin】
The reticular fibers (i.e., vascular bundles) from the dried, mature fruit of Luffa cylindrical (L.) Roem. of the Cucurbitaceae family.
【Characteristics】
Cylindrical in shape, slightly curved, thinner at both ends. About 25~60㎝ in length, with a middle diameter of about 6~8㎝. The surface is yellowish-white, and the whole is a network interwoven with multi-layered filamentous fibers. Light in weight, firm and tough, and cannot be broken. The cross-section shows 3 locules of the ovary, forming 3 large cavities. Odorless, tasteless.

It is best to choose dried ones that are long and large, clean, white, and soft, without outer skin, seeds, mold, or breakage.
