The seed of the Euphorbiaceae plant, the Tung Oil Tree (Aleurites fordii Hemsl).
【Characteristics】
The drupe is nearly spherical, sharply pointed at the apex, smooth, 4-5cm in diameter, and contains 3-5 seeds. The seeds are broadly oval, with a rounded dorsal surface and a flat ventral surface.
【Identification】
The best quality is characterized by a deep brown color, luster, and plumpness.
