 【Botanical Origin】

The dried ripe seeds of Celosia argentea L. of the Amaranthaceae family.

 【Characteristics】

It is flat and round, slightly thicker in the center than at the edges, 1~1.5㎜ in diameter, and about 0.5㎜ thick. The surface is smooth, black, and shiny, with a slightly concave hilum on the side. The seed coat is thin and brittle, easily broken, the inside is white, and slightly smelly. The commercial product often has residual yellowish-white pericarp like a cap, with a fine filamentous flower-like structure at the end, about 4~5㎜ long.
