【Botanical Origin】
It is the seed coat of the mung bean, Phaseolus mungo L., family Fabaceae. Mung Bean Yellow (綠豆癀) is the processed product of mung bean.
【Characteristics】
(1) Mung Bean Hull: The dried seed coat has a very irregular shape, all rolled inward from the split. The outer surface is dark brown with dense texture, and the hilum is in the shape of an elongated oval groove, often with residual yellowish-white funiculus. The inner surface is smooth and light brown. It is hard and brittle with a weak odor.
(2) Mung Bean Yellow (綠豆癀): The appearance is brown, the surface is rough, and there are cracks.
