【Origin】
It is crude red mercuric oxide (Hydrargyri Oxydum Rubrum).
【Properties】
1. Hong Sheng (Red Sublimate): It is an orange-red or orange-yellow lump or powder. If in lumps, it is about 2mm thick, one side is smooth and slightly shiny, and the other side is rough and honeycomb-like. It is heavy and brittle. It has no odor, and the color darkens when exposed to sunlight. The best quality is red, flaky, and shiny.
2. Huang Sheng (Yellow Sublimate): It is a yellow or orange-yellow lump or powder, and the rest is the same as Hong Sheng.
