 【Origin】

The calcareous skeleton of organ coral (coral E’guan Shi) and goose-feather-like stalactites (stalactite E’guan Shi). See stalactites for the latter.

 【Characteristics】

Organ coral skeleton: also known as coral E’guan Shi. It is in the shape of a round tube, some slightly curved, one end thinner and sharper, shaped like a goose feather quill, 3~5㎝ long and 4~7㎜ in diameter. The surface is milky white or grayish-white, with raised, segmented horizontal ring patterns and numerous straight longitudinal ridges, with fine horizontal ridges intersecting to form small squares in between. It is hard and brittle, can be broken, and the cross-section has multiple septa arranged radially from the center. It has no odor and a slightly salty taste.

1. Grind into a fine powder. 2. Calcined E’guan Shi

 【Identification】

The best quality is grayish-white, shaped like a goose feather quill, and crystalline.
