【Formula Meaning】
According to “Yi Fang”: This formula affects the Hand Shaoyin channel. (1) Panax ginseng: Tonifies Heart Qi. (2) Acorus gramineus: Opens the Heart orifices. (3) Poria cocos var. alba: Can connect Heart Qi to the Kidney. (4) Polygala tenuifolia: Can connect Kidney Qi to the Heart. (5) Cinnabaris: Red in color, it clears the Liver and calms the Heart. The Heart belongs to the Fire element. When Fire is vigorous, its radiance can reach far.
【Function】
Calms the soul, settles the spirit, tonifies the Heart, strengthens the will, and improves memory.
【Indications】
All deficiencies of spirit and mind, anxiety, palpitations, forgetfulness, depression, sadness, melancholy, absentmindedness, disordered speech, symptoms that worsen by morning or by evening. According to “Yi Fang”: Those who can see nearby but not far, by taking this regularly, will benefit the Heart and strengthen the will, and can cure forgetfulness.
【Contraindications】
Avoid sour foods, lamb, and glutinous rice cakes.
