[Formula Rationale]
“Essentials of Formulas”: Belongs to formulas for Foot Shaoyin, Taiyang, and Taiyin meridians. (1) Seminal turbidity is often caused by damp-heat and phlegm. (2) Coptis Chinensis: Clears Heart Fire. (3) Phellodendron Bark: Clears Kidney Fire, thus clearing heat. (4) The two Poria species: thus promote urination and drain dampness. (5) Pinellia Ternata: thus resolves phlegm. (6) Damp-heat is often due to stagnation of Qi. Amomum Villosum and Alpinia Oxyphylla: are acrid and warm, promote Qi circulation, and also astringe the Kidney and strengthen the Spleen. They dissipate stagnant Qi and temper the coldness of Coptis and Phellodendron. (7) Glycyrrhiza Uralensis: Harmonizes the Middle Jiao and tonifies Earth. (8) Lotus Stamen is astringent: thus it prevents leakage.
[Functions]
Clears heat, promotes urination, drains dampness, astringes essence, tonifies the root, and simultaneously drains damp-heat.
[Indications]
