【Explanation of Formula】

Medical Formulas: A formula for the Shaoyin channel of the Hand. (1) Zi Li: Tonifies the Kidney and benefits Essence. (2) Lian Zi: Connects the Heart and Kidney. (3) Mu Li: Clears heat and tonifies water. (4) Qian Shi: Secures the Kidney and tonifies the Spleen. (5) Combined with Lian Xu and Long Gu: These are all astringent substances that secure Essence and consolidate fluid, used to stop abnormal leakage. Collected Formulas Commentaries: Emissions of essence are generally due to excess heat or deficiency, and either excess or deficiency in nature. Nocturnal emissions indicate an overactive minister fire, requiring calming of Heart and Liver fire to resolve the condition. Emissions without dreams are entirely due to Kidney deficiency and lack of consolidation, necessitating tonifying and astringent herbs to secure the leakage. Since this is a condition of deficiency and leakage, there is no excess heat to clear, nor stasis to guide out. Therefore, the formula uses Shao Yuan Zi Li to tonify and consolidate Kidney Essence, supplementing its deficiency. Mu Li secures the lower Jiao and calms Yang, Long Gu calms the spirit and pacifies the Liver, both having the ability to astringe and secure leakage. Qian Shi benefits the Spleen and stops turbidity, Lian Rou enters the Kidney to connect with the Heart. Lian Xu is added for its astringent effect, making this formula suitable for treating deficiency-related seminal emissions.
