【Functions】

Nourishes the heart and calms the spirit, tonifies the kidney and nourishes yin.

 【Indications】

Deficiency of blood and yin, excessive physical and emotional strain, disharmony between heart and kidney, mental confusion, frequent strange dreams at night, palpitations and fright, forgetfulness and seminal emission, night sweats, strengthens blood and consolidates essence, dispels vexing heat and fright, sharpens the intellect and prevents forgetfulness.

 【Contraindications】

Avoid spicy and irritating foods.

 【Mnemonic】

Tonifies blood, yin, spleen, liver, and kidney: Gui, Di, Mai, Gan, Fu, Gou. Clears heat, calms spirit, opens orifices: Xuan, Changpu, Bai. Go back to your hometown to sell Ganfu dogs, choose Azhangbo (Gui, Di, Mai, Gan, Fu, Gou, Xuan, Changpu, Bai).

 【Pharmacology】

Has sedative, hypnotic, and anticonvulsant effects.
