 【Characteristics】

(I) Pogostemon cablin: The dried whole plant is 30~60cm long, with opposite branches. The stem is slightly square-columnar, and the old stem is sub-cylindrical, with a diameter of about 4~10㎜. The surface is grayish-brown or grayish-green, with fewer hairs. The texture is firm and not easy to break. The cross-section is rough, yellowish-green, and there is white pith in the center. The young stem is slightly square, densely covered with hairs, brittle and easy to break. The cross-section is grayish-green. The leaves are opposite, grayish-line or yellowish-green, mostly wrinkled or broken, densely covered with hairs on both sides. After soaking in water and flattening, the leaves are ovate or elliptical, 4~9㎝ long, 3~7㎝ wide, soft and thick in texture, fragrant, rich, slightly bitter and pungent in taste.
(II) Agastache rugosa: The dried whole plant is about 60~90㎝ long. The stem is square-columnar with ridges at the four corners, with a diameter of about 3~10㎜. The surface is yellowish-green or grayish-yellow, with sparse hairs or nearly hairless. The texture is light and brittle. The fracture surface is uneven and fibrous, with white pith in the center. The old stem is hard, lignified, and hollow in cross-section. The leaves are opposite and mostly fallen off. The remaining leaves are grayish-green, wrinkled or broken. The complete leaves are soaked in water and flattened, appearing ovate or triangular-ovate, with slight hairs on both sides. The leaves are 3.5~12.5㎝ long, 2~9.5㎝ wide, with more hairs on the lower surface, and densely covered with circular brown scale-like glandular dots on the upper surface. The petiole is 1.5~6m long, hairy, thin and brittle. Sometimes there are cylindrical inflorescences at the ends of the branches, brownish-earth color, small flowers with short pedicels, corolla mostly fallen off, nutlets hidden in the calyx, the fragrance is clear, and the taste is bland.
