Dried fruit spikes of the mulberry tree, Morus alba L., in the Moraceae family.
【Characteristics】
It is a multiple fruit. The dried fruit spike is oblong, 1~2㎝ long and 6~10㎜ in diameter. It has a short stem at the base. The surface is brown, purplish-red, or purplish-black. The fruit spike consists of 30~60 aggregated achenes. The achenes are ovoid, slightly flattened, 2~5㎜ long, with 4 membranous bracts on the outside, and are rich in sugar. It has a slight odor and a slightly sour and sweet taste.
