 【Botanical Origin】

The cocoon shell of the silkworm moth Bombyx mori L. (Family Bombycidae).

 【Characteristics】

It is long oval or slightly constricted in the middle, about 3-4cm long, and 1.7-2.1cm in diameter. The surface is white, with irregular wrinkles, and attached silk, which is fluffy. The silk pattern on its inner wall is very regular. It is light and tough, and not easy to tear. The un-emerged silkworm cocoon contains one yellowish-brown silkworm pupa and a light brown, wrinkled silkworm skin shed before pupation.

The best ones are white in color, light and tough, dry, and free of impurities.
