【Origin】
The dried placenta of Homo sapiens L. of the Hominidae family. The fresh placenta is obtained, the blood vessels are cut open, washed repeatedly with clean water to prevent decay, and dried in time.
【Characteristics】
The processed product is irregularly oval or nearly circular, with a diameter of 9.5~16㎝ and a thickness of about 2㎝. Due to different processing methods, it has various colors such as yellowish-white, light yellow, reddish-yellow, and purplish-yellow. The outer surface of the chorionic membrane is dome-shaped, with a rough surface and numerous grooves, resembling a sponge. The inner surface (the side that encloses the fetus) is flatter, slightly concave from the edge to the center, with an umbilical cord scar in the center. It is firm and brittle, with a yellow fracture surface mixed with white particles. The layer near the blood vessels is loose, resembling bone marrow. It has a peculiar fishy odor and a sweet and salty taste.
【Identification】
Fresh placenta (placenta from unhealthy mothers cannot be used for medicine), preferably from the first pregnancy and reddish-purple in color. The processed product should be large, intact, light yellow in color, foamy and crispy, without black spots or purple veins (indicating that the blood in the blood vessels has not been washed clean), and free from mold and insect infestation. There are currently no counterfeit products on the market.
