【Botanical Origin】
It is granular crystals obtained by steam distillation from the roots, trunks, branches, and leaves of Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl of the Lauraceae family. Or synthetic products.
【Characteristics】
Pure product is snow-white crystalline powder or colorless transparent crystalline granules. Commercial products are often colorless, transparent hard blocks, and crude products are slightly yellow and shiny.
【Identification】
The best quality is white, pure, transparent, dry, shiny, free of moisture and impurities, and has a strong odor. The next best is yellow and oily. If sparks burst out and make a ping-pong sound when burned with fire, it contains moisture. If there is residue after burning, it is impure.
This product is soluble in approximately 800ml of water, 1ml of alcohol, 1ml of ether, or approximately 0.5ml of chloroform. It is easily soluble in fatty oils or volatile oils, has a specific gravity of 0.99, a melting point of 174~179℃, and is easily volatile at room temperature. It can emit a smoky and bright flame when ignited, with a strong and pungent aromatic odor, and a taste that is initially spicy and then cool.
