The vine with leaves of Aristolochia debilis Sieb. et Zucc., belonging to the Aristolochiaceae family.
n 【Characteristics】n
The stems are slender and twisted, 2~3㎜ in diameter, light yellowish-brown, tough in texture, smooth, hairless, with longitudinal grooves on the surface, showing 6~7 brown, blunt ridgelines. It has a clear and fragrant aroma, and a mild taste. The leaves are alternate, mostly wrinkled and fragmented. The complete leaves are triangularly narrow oval, dark green, wrinkled and curled, smooth on the upper surface, with raised veins on the lower surface, hairless, heart-shaped at the base, auricular on both sides, with three obvious palmate veins, and the petioles are slender and twisted. Rubbing the leaves by hand gives off a special aroma and a weak taste.nThe processed product is a transversely cut fragment of the stem, approximately 1~5㎜ thick, with a smooth appearance and obvious ridgelines. The cut surface shows 3 light yellow, large vascular bundles, and 3~4 small vascular bundles, with obvious vessel perforations. The leaves are obliquely or transversely cut into irregular fragments.
