The dried flower buds of Oleaceae Jasminum officinale L.

【Characteristics】n

The dried flower buds do not have sepals and ovaries. The total length is about 2cm. The corolla tube is slender and tubular, about 1cm long and about 1mm thick. The corolla has 5 lobes, which are tightly wrapped together in an imbricate arrangement, shaped like a brush tip, with a base approximately 3mm thick. The entire flower is light yellowish-brown in color and has fine longitudinal veins. When dissected, two stamens can be seen attached to the upper part of the corolla tube. The filaments are short, the anthers are narrowly oblong, and a residual style often remains in the center. The texture is slightly hard and brittle, becoming soft when exposed to moisture. It has a fragrant odor and a bitter, slightly astringent taste.
