It is the aril of Nutmeg Myristica fragrans Houtt. of the Myristicaceae family.

【Characteristics】n

It is a flat, lobed piece, about 25mm long, or longer, and about 1mm thick. It is light reddish-brown or orange-reddish-brown, translucent, and brittle. When immersed in water, it returns to its original shape on the seed. The upper part is irregularly lobed, and the lower end is connected, slightly bowl-shaped. It has the inherent aroma of Nutmeg, and the taste is fragrant and slightly bitter.
