Leaves of Mahonia bealei (Fort.) Carr and Mahonia fortunei (Lindl.) Fedde, belonging to the Berberidaceae family.

 【Characteristics】

1. Broadleaf Mahonia Leaf: Ovate-elliptic in shape, with an acuminate apex and sharp spines, cordate or nearly truncate and oblique base, with 2-8 spiny teeth on each side of the margin, the tips of the teeth slightly curved towards the back of the leaf. The upper surface is purplish-green and glossy, while the lower surface is yellowish-green. It is hard and brittle in texture. The odor is faint, and the taste is bland. 2. Narrow-Leaf Mahonia Leaf: Narrowly lanceolate in shape, with 6-13 spiny teeth on each side of the margin, and other characteristics are the same as the above species.
