【Formula Explanation】

《Compound Formulas》: The formula uses Platycodon grandiflorus and Apricot kernel, which are bitter and descending, to open and spread the lung Qi, dispel phlegm, and relieve cough and asthma. Perilla seed promotes circulation downwards and relieves cough and asthma. Tangerine peel, Pinellia ternata, and Poria cocos strengthen the spleen, dry dampness, and transform phlegm, thus controlling the source of phlegm generation. Fritillaria and Mulberry bark moisten the lungs and relieve cough. Dendrobium nourishes Yin and moistens the lungs. Mint disperses wind and clears heat. Prepared Licorice harmonizes the other herbs. All herbs work together to clear and spread lung Qi, relieve cough and asthma, strengthen the spleen, dry dampness, and transform phlegm. This formula is suitable for coughs caused by chronic spleen and stomach deficiency cold, excessive phlegm turbidity, and exogenous dryness.
