【Botanical Origin】
Fruit of the Euphorbiaceae plant Phyllanthus emblica L.
【Characteristics】
The dried fruit is round or irregularly round, slightly showing a six-lobed shape, with a diameter of about 2cm. The surface is brownish-brown, rough and uneven, with small warty protrusions. The base has a circular, prostrate fruit stalk scar. It is solid and not easily broken. After breaking, the inside appears yellowish-white. The seeds are not large. It has a slight odor and a sweet but astringent taste.
