 【Botanical Origin】

It is the dried young fruit of Chebulae Fructus (Terminalia chebula Retz.) of the Combretaceae family.

 【Characteristics】

It is flat, long-ovoid in shape, with a fruit stalk scar at the bottom. It is 2~3㎝ long and 0.5~1.2㎝ wide. The outer surface is dark brown and covered with obvious longitudinal wrinkles. It is hard in texture, with yellowish-green pulp. The core is not obvious, slightly hollow, and smaller ones are dark brown without a hollow center. It has no odor, and tastes bitter, astringent, and slightly sweet.

Good quality is indicated by dryness, firmness, uniform size, and no hollow space on the cut surface.
