【Actions】　

Warms the channels and tonifies deficiency, invigorates blood and stops bleeding, nourishes blood and stops bleeding, regulates menstruation and calms the fetus.

【Indications】　

Deficiency and consumptive diseases in women, uterine bleeding (metrorrhagia and metrostaxis), excessive menstruation, continuous spotting, or postpartum persistent bleeding, or bleeding during pregnancy, accompanied by abdominal pain.

【Dissection】

“Compound Formula”: The formula uses Donkey-hide Gelatin to tonify blood and nourish yin, calm the fetus and stop bleeding. Artemisia Vulgaris warms the channels, stops bleeding, calms the fetus, and relieves pain; these are the chief herbs. Angelica Sinensis, White Peony Root, Chuan Xiong, and Rehmannia form Si Wu Tang, which nourishes and harmonizes blood, and regulates the Chong and Ren meridians; these are the minister herbs. Licorice Root strengthens the spleen, works with White Peony Root to relieve spasms and pain, and combines with Donkey-hide Gelatin to stop bleeding. All herbs work together, mainly to nourish blood and stop bleeding, with the additional effect of regulating menstruation and calming the fetus.
