【Functions】

Clears heat and dries dampness.

 【Indications】

Damp-heat pouring downward causing bone and sinew pain, or redness, swelling, and heat pain in the feet and knees, or weakness and flaccidity of the lower limbs, or damp-heat leucorrhea, and damp sores in the lower part of the body.

 【Syndromes Treated】

Scrotal eczema, beriberi, rheumatoid arthritis, gout; used to treat sciatica, infectious polyradiculoneuritis, and acute nephritis in children.

 【Mnemonic】

White hair (Bai) is withered (Cang). (Referring to Huang Bai – Phellodendron Chinense and Cang Zhu – Atractylodes Lancea)
