【Formula Analysis】

From 《Han Dian》: In this formula, Tu Fu Ling (Poria) (Shan Gui Lai) and Jin Yin Hua (Honeysuckle Flower) both have detoxification effects, and can treat sores and dissipate heat. Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis) and Chuan Xiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong) can tonify blood and eliminate sores. Fu Ling (Poria), Mu Tong (Akebia), Chen Pi (Citrus Peel), etc., are all medicines for removing damp-heat and eliminating water toxin. If bowel movements are regular, Da Huang (Rhubarb) should be removed. If there is vaginal discharge and local heat, then <a href='https://whatsintcm.com/dt_articles/Long Dan瀉肝湯/’>Long Dan Xie Gan Tang (Gentiana Longdancao Decoction to Drain the Liver) is more suitable.

 【Function】

Clears heat and resolves toxicity, dispels dampness and dissipates stagnation, promotes diuresis and stops leukorrhea.

 【Indications】

Damp-heat accumulation, discharge of foul-smelling substances, white and yellow vaginal discharge, lymphatic and toxic vaginal discharge, and women’s scalp sores caused by vaginal discharge. Used for gynecological diseases mainly presenting with vaginal discharge, with slight anemia and not much abdominal tension and fullness.

 【Suitability】

Various types of vaginal discharge, whether white, yellow, gonococcal, trichomonas, etc., are suitable if there is no severe inflammation and congestion, and the course is subacute or chronic.
