Bulb of Liliaceae Garlic Allium sativum L.

 【Characteristics】

The bulb is nearly spherical, 3-6cm in diameter, composed of 6-10 small bulbils attached to a flattened woody bulb plate and enclosed by 1-3 layers of membranous scale leaves. The center has dried remnants of the flower stalk, and the base has numerous yellowish-white fibrous root scars. The small bulbils are petal-shaped, oblong-ovate like orange segments, covered with membranous scale leaves, and the inside is white, fleshy scale leaves with yellow oil spots visible throughout the cut surface. It has a peculiar odor and a pungent taste.
