“Composite Formula”: The formula uses Forsythia to clear heat and detoxify, lightly and clearly dispelling heat; Mint to dispel wind and heat, clearing and benefiting the throat; these two herbs work together to enhance the effect of clearing heat and dispelling the exterior. Platycodon both ascends and descends, and is good at raising lung qi. When used with Licorice, it opens the voice and benefits the throat. Chebulae Fructus is sour and bitter, astringes the lungs to stop cough, and lowers qi and fire. When combined with the previous herbs, one dispels and one astringes, opening and closing work together, complementing each other. 仁/’>Amomum villosum is acrid and dispersing, warm and unblocking, aromatically opening the orifices, to assist in opening the voice.
