【Formula Explanation】
From “Yī Fāng”: This is a formula for the Stomach (Yangming) and Kidney (Shaoyin) meridians. (1) Vexing heat (Fan Re) often indicates deficiency. The sweet properties of Er Di (Prepared and Raw Rehmannia), Er Dong (Asparagus and Ophiopogon), Licorice Root, and Dendrobium Stem treat deficient heat of the Kidney and Stomach, combining purging with tonifying. (2) The bitter and cold properties of Artemisia Capillaris and Scutellaria Root reduce heat and remove dampness. (3) Since fire heat tends to rise and cause ailments, Fructus Aurantii and Loquat Leaf are also used to suppress and descend it.
【Functions】
Clears heat and eliminates dampness, nourishes Yin and moistens dryness, detoxifies.
