【Formula Analysis】
This formula uses Er Chen Tang (Two-Cured Decoction) to dry dampness, resolve phlegm, and regulate Qi to harmonize the middle Jiao. Tian Nan Xing is added to enhance its function of drying dampness and resolving phlegm. Cang Zhu and Bai Zhu (White Atractylodes Rhizome) strengthen the spleen and transform dampness. Xiang Fu (Cyperus Rhizome) regulates Qi and relieves pain. Wei Ling Xian (Clematis Root) and Qiang Huo (Notopterygium Root) dispel wind, overcome dampness, and unblock the collaterals to relieve pain. Huang Qin (Scutellaria Root) is used to clear heat and dry dampness, and to prevent the other herbs from being excessively acrid and warm. The combined effect of all the herbs is to strengthen the spleen to transform dampness and dry dampness to eliminate phlegm. When phlegm and dampness are removed, the flow of Qi in the meridians will be smooth, thereby relieving pain.
