[Formula Explanation]

In this formula, Angelica sinensis nourishes and invigorates blood, stops pain; Safflower invigorates blood, dispels stasis, and moves stagnation to relieve pain; Xuejie invigorates blood, dispels stasis, and stops pain; Catechu clears heat, stops bleeding, promotes tissue regeneration, and constricts sores; Rhubarb and Tree Peony Bark clear heat, cool blood, invigorate blood, and remove stasis. Cloves warm the middle and stop pain, Costus root moves qi and regulates the middle to relieve pain. Since the blood-invigorating and qi-moving herbs are too potent and may harm the vital energy, Poria cocos is used to strengthen the spleen, lotus seed to thicken the intestines and benefit the kidneys, and White Peony Root to nourish blood and astringe yin. Used together with Licorice, they can also relieve spasms and pain.
