From 《Yi Fang》 (Medical Prescriptions): This formula targets the Hand Shaoyin (Heart), Foot Shaoyin (Kidney), Foot Jueyin (Liver), and Foot Shaoyang (Gallbladder) meridians. (1) Prepared Rehmannia Root and Angelica Root: nourish blood. (2) Fresh Rehmannia Root and Lycium Bark: cool blood. (3) Scutellaria Root: drains Lung fire. (4) Coptis Rhizome: drains Liver fire. (5) Asparagus Root: clears Lung heat and nourishes Kidney yin. (6) Bupleurum Root: disperses Liver qi and raises yang. (7) Schisandra Berry: astringes depletion and prevents dispersion. (8) Ginseng and Licorice Root: benefit Qi and tonify the Middle Jiao. (9) Bitter Orange Peel: regulates Qi and resolves stagnation.
