【Formula Meaning】
《Han Dian》: Ren Shen (Ginseng), Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis), Chuan Xiong (Ligusticum striatum), Bai Zhi (Angelica dahurica), etc. in the formula are all nourishing agents, which can help suppuration and the growth of new flesh. Gui Zhi (Cinnamon Twig) and Huang Qi (Astragalus) can guide the virus out of the body and prevent internal attacks; and enhance the efficacy of the above nourishing agents. The effect of Jie Geng (Platycodon grandiflorus) and Fang Feng (Ledebouriella seseloides) lies in detoxification and anti-inflammation; Hou Po (Magnolia officinalis) is added as a stomachic in this case because other medicines may cause some stagnation in the stomach and impair appetite. Gan Cao (Licorice Root) is a harmonizing agent for all medicines, and its inherent poverty is harmonized by Gan Cao (Licorice Root) to form a whole, so as to achieve the desired effect. This formula is often used with the addition of Fan Bi (Enhydrophis chinensis); Fan Bi is added in cases where the suppurative power is weak.

【Indications】
Thyroid enlargement.《Han Dian》: This formula is suitable for various suppurative inflammations, that is, carbuncle, facial furuncle, suppurative mastitis, suppurative otitis media, otorrhea, pyothorax, perianal inflammation, hemorrhoids, osteomyelitis, skin ulcer, etc. Its medicinal effect is to promote suppuration and generate muscle tissue.
【Mnemonic】
Nèi Tuō Shēng Jī (Internal Support for Tissue Generation) — Sheng Ji (tissue generation) drugs (Ren Shen, Huang Qi), fighting, attacking, defending, of course, arguing and then resolving. Use this formula for internal support and tissue generation for injuries (Chuan Xiong, Fang Feng, Dang Gui, Gan Cao, Bai Zhi, Gui Zhi, Hou Po, Jie Geng).
【Modifications】
(1) If the sores are unbearably painful, add a small amount of Ru Xiang (Frankincense) and Mo Yao (Myrrh).
